No. 105 [Reply & Quote]
Sigh. First of all, we are in no position whatsoever to judge technology and beings that common sense dictates are so far ahead of us that it may as well be lab rats judging their captors. But, their technology likely WAS (and is) infinitely greater than ours...our progress and accomplishments would be based just on what we were able to glean from it. And thirdly...30 years, 60 years? You say them like they are actual spans of time when in historical and progress-of-humanity terms, they are blinks of an eye. Of course it would take that long to analyze and start building on what we learned from Roswell technology...you think it would just hop off a conveyor belt the next day? Even if it could (which it can't), the humans who took control would never be that stupid to drive such huge, wholesale changes so quickly.
And as for the "last couple of hundred years"...what exactly has been the big leap? In politics?! Communication (that isn't technology based)?! Those are nothing compared to the what we've experienced in technology. And not just ICs, but things like Kevlar, stealth planes, and others. People who brush aside the leaps of such technologies simply don't understand the underlying science enough to realize what impossible, miraculous jumps they are when compared against our immediately-previous knowledge and progress. It's like a big spike in the graph, and it occurs at Roswell.
