Japanese Sabbat kicks ass, I like the UK band as well, but they're not quite up to par with the Japanese one. Gigantic discography to sift through, most of it's really solid, this one is called Karmagmassacre.

My Thrash is better than your Thrash. The vocalist in this band is crazy. Glass shatters when he screams. I have yet to listen to this entire album because as soon the guy let out a falsetto my headphones exploded into a million pieces, melted from the heat of the burst and solidified into my carpet. It's fucking RUINED now...

Finally checked out F.K.U.. Turned out to be really funny and quite good. Just look at the band.

BTW, in the share thread I said something about a Lost Soul member being in the band, which is incorrect. It was Lost Souls, a shitty industrial Nu-metal group from the 90's. Their last album has a whopping 0% average from 2 reviews on Metal Archives. Fortunately, F.K.U. is much better.

I was reading reviews for 1349's latest album on Metal Archives just now and am very surprised to see such low ratings. I can understand people getting pissed when a band deviates far from their established sound in favor of something of lesser artistic merit or a complete redirecting of style, but is Ambient Doom really such a hard pill to swallow for a Black Metal fan?

"Revelations of the Black Flame" Is the first 1349 album I've listened to, so obviously I was not disappointed.

My favorite thing by Keep Of Kalessin has always been the "Reclaim" EP, though the vocals weren't terribly strong at the time, the way it opens is so fuckin cool. Same with the third track - "Come Damnation" - the guitar squeal is killer. I think their compositions are far beyond a lot of Epic Melodic Black metal bands. Catchy without being "cookie cutter".

They are unique, and yes, it is epic without being cheesy. If the chorus to "The Rising Sign" does not grab you by the heart, you do not possess one.

Their "Welcome To My Last Chapter" album was pretty great, not sure if any of you have heard them.

Although Bathory move into viking metal I still consider this a black metal album - can't stop listening to "A Fine Day To Die".

Though I had known of them, I had never listened to Adagio before this album. Dark, heavy, technical and catchy power metal.

Kreator - Hordes of Chaos
You can tell this album was written to rile up the crowd its songs would be played for. Bitchin Thrash metal from a master band.

Riverside - Anno Domini High Definition
I could swear I've heard the opening track in a movie or something. Brilliant Progressive Rock/Metal.

Samael - Above
This was actually a surprise, not because the album was very original (it isn't), but because Samael hasn't sounded so raw in ages. Their song writing is still highly catchy, but here it's been speed up and distanced a bit from the Electro/Industrial in favor of straight Black Metal.

I've got to mention Scar Symmetry's new album. They may have lost Christian Alvestam but the new vocalists did a good job of filling the gap. The death vox sound like he never left and the clean vox managed to bring a new sound to the band without degenerating into an intolerable emo whine. The musicianship is top notch as always and with the exception of a few tracks Dark Matter Dimensions was a solid, albeit inferior follow-up to Holographic Universe.

Oh, I'm such an ass. I left Vortech off the list. The who writes that music even came to anonib to freely distribute his awesome progressive death/thrash. "Posthumanism" is a completely asskicking masterpiece full of groovy electronic soundbites, aggressive barked vokills and ultra-fast riffage.

I do, however, remember another DFD legend that is entirely possible. At one point they apparently got paired with ICP (Insane Clown Posse) as an opening act and all the dipshit juggalos were booing DFD off the stage. This offended the singer so much that he grabbed a bucket from backstage and on a GG Allin inspired whim, shat in it and chucked contents of said bucket (some piss too, of course) all over the crowd.

From there I think it was the usual, crowd riots, venue shuts down for the night, and the band runs away.
