My favorite thing by Keep Of Kalessin has always been the "Reclaim" EP, though the vocals weren't terribly strong at the time, the way it opens is so fuckin cool. Same with the third track - "Come Damnation" - the guitar squeal is killer. I think their compositions are far beyond a lot of Epic Melodic Black metal bands. Catchy without being "cookie cutter".

Just listened to the new album (posted in the share thread). Holy fuck, it's good. No longer will I write Lost Soul off as a Vader sound-alike. They surpassed the Death Metal giants, who (though still writing consistently awesome riffs) seem to go through the motions when they use the same old tried & true song structure.

Woot for SweDeath! I'm glad someone already mentioned Entombed. Morning Star is a good album of theirs too.
Also, adding Grave. Into the Grave and Exhumed: The Best Of Grave are both good.
And finally: Behemoth. (Polish Blackened Death Metal.)

Gwynbleidd might as well be a brand new band seeing as how their first and only full length album came out this year, but they've actually been around since 2002. I take it they've been honing their craft, because what they've done here is the work of a band at their peak.

They could sell out and write top 40 hits from now to eternity and fans would still remember that they basically filled in for Opeth with their own brand of compositionally beautiful Folk Progressive Death Metal.

Here's a 40 minute long EP(!) to go with the full length album posted in the share thread. Get 'em both.

Would like to recommend the album Gangrene by Mirrorthrone, and the album Carriers of Dust, like Gangrene better though. Mirrorthrone is a one man band from Switzerland, always finds it fascinating with one man bands, especially if they make very good music.
